The new Tempo insert automation is great but slightly clunky. I can't say I'm a huge fan of the new buss compressor as the release notes suggest that it's targeted at electric guitars with no input from Steinberg, but I like the fact that it allows you to automatically analyse the different peak ranges in a channel - in this way you can fine-tune the buss compressor considerably. Personally, I find the new Match any button in the Master channel greatly useful though, which can work well for ensembles and supergroups as it allows you to select between multiple audio files without having to manually convert them. The new Equaliser tool is fairly conventional, as you'd expect. I think it's a great feature for beaming a bus with a few other effects, as I can set it to balance out the frequencies of a bus, but then it automatically compensates for whatever levels I have set which is a bit of a let-down.
The new Audiogain tool allows you to do a bit of automatic equalisation on your audio, but it's nothing to get too excited about. However, pressing Shift brings up an alert box asking whether you want to save your windows configuration, suggesting there could be an issue with this, whilst you can't rearrange the windows near the top of Cubase. I think it's a small plus that you can still close the window with the Windows key.
First off, there's no longer an 'order windows' category, so you can no longer close the entire window with the little cross. When I first opened it this evening I encountered a couple of small bugs, but nothing that is a show-stopper.
